ARTIST BIO

IMG_5373.JPG

Frances is a Brighton and Hove based artist,

working in watercolour to create a vibrant range of exotic images.

Using Daniel Smith paints and the finest handmade paper she pushes the medium to its fullest capacity. The results are crystal clear, with pin-sharp detail and astonishing colour.

It’s a tecnicolour menagerie of animals great and small, and of the small made great. Playing with scale, she creates unusual and sometimes surprising images, celebrating the vivid and extraordinary range of flora and fauna.

Currently focusing on the insect life of our planet she highlights the innate beauty and presence of these magnificent tiny creatures. After reading alarming news of rapidly declining insect populations around the globe she hopes that these paintings will spark awareness of their plight.
